An autopsy by the police confirmed Davido's son, Ifeanyi, drowned

Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of Davido and Chioma Rowland, died of drowning, according to the Lagos State Police Command yesterday.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the development, saying Ifeanyi's autopsy results were released on Friday.
As a result of the autopsy, it has been determined that the boy drowned. The investigation was concluded yesterday, but it is still ongoing. According to the police spokesperson over the phone, the two detainees are still with us.

When Ifeanyi died, the police conducted an autopsy to determine whether he drowned in his father's swimming pool in the Banana Island area of Lagos State or died in another way.

According to a source who confirmed the development, the police routinely conduct autopsies in such cases. However, the police will refrain from doing so if the deceased's family members object.

"The family members aren't saying anything yet as they're in shock, but we will conduct an autopsy until someone instructs us to stop. It's the standard procedure in any case of death," the source said.

In addition, the source explained that of the eight domestic workers interrogated by the police in connection with Ifeanyi's death, two of them, the cook and nanny, who were supposed to care for the boy, were held for various reasons, including failing to meet the child's needs.

Ifeanyi was said to have drowned in a pool on October 31. The incident happened within Davido's residence on the Banana Island in Lagos.

Several sources reported that Davido left for the US and Chioma for Ibadan, leaving Ifeanyi with a domestic assistant.
Following Ifeanyi's death, police arrested eight of the singer's domestic workers, including his nanny.
The nanny and his cook were detained for another probe and the rest were released.
