Order for Nicki Minaj's husband and his rape victim to settle the legal dispute

Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj's husband, is compelled to participate in mediation with Jennifer Hough, the woman who has filed a lawsuit accusing him of rape.

Last year, Jennifer Hough sued Nicki Minaj's husband, claiming witness intimidation, harassment, and infliction of mental anguish. Judge James R. Cho directed the situation to mediation on December 6 on Tuesday.

The court stated, "The case is referred to Court-annexed mediation." "Parties must choose a mediator by 12/20/2022, and the mediation must be finished by 3/6/2023. Participants in the mediation may do so remotely.

The document also said that the parties were to submit a joint status report within two weeks of the mediation's conclusion, but no later than March 20, 2023, whichever came first.

There won't be much written discovery to hinder the parties' ability to reach a settlement. If Jennifer Hough and Kenneth Petty are unable to reach an agreement, the case will go to trial.

The court also disclosed the case's pretrial timetable on Tuesday. Automatic disclosures must be exchanged by January 9, 2023. All discovery, including expert depositions, had to be completed by September 5, 2023.

Jennifer Hough said that Kenneth Petty tried to intimidate, harass, and threaten her in an effort to persuade her to drop her accusations of rape against him.

She accused the rapper of taking part in the harassment campaign in a lawsuit she filed against him and his wife Nicki Minaj.

Justice is sought for Jennifer Hough

Earlier this year, Jennifer Hough retracted her charges against Nicki Minaj. But Kenneth Petty was still listed as a defendant in the case.

Kenneth Petty was convicted of attempted first-degree rape in 1995. He spent more than four years behind bars.

He was sentenced to one year of home confinement and three years of probation by a judge in July.

Kenneth Petty is currently pursuing legal action against the State of New York and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services in relation to his classification as a sex offender. Oral arguments in the case will begin on January 6, 2023.
